Can I Obtain Prior Claim or Damage Information?

All records held by the Illinois Mine Subsidence Insurance Fund are claim specific and protected by the same privacy laws as any other insurance record. As such, they are not subject to the Freedom of Information Act. A seller must disclose if the property has mine subsidence damage and if they received payment(s) for a mine subsidence loss. In some cases, we can release limited claim information to insurance company underwriters or licensed insurance agents for their underwriting consideration. Requests must be on company letterhead, signed and dated.
